The Castell Coch Evening Tour

Castell Coch

Escape to the hills for an evening tour of this fairytale landmark!

Popularly known as "the fairytale castle", at night Castell Coch is even more of an escape to a different time and place.

Reaching upwards from its dark wooded hillside setting, its towers will be bathed in floodlight, while inside you will be guided through the floodlit courtyard to the ornate colourful rooms, their decor brought to life by the soft glow of the castle's subtle lighting.

Your group will have the castle all to yourselves.

Castle Coch Interior

Hear stories of this Victorian fantasy palace with turbulent medieval origins:

- those who fought over it in days of old;

- the man who discovered its ruins nearly 150 years ago;

- the feast of artistic and architectural detail created by genius eccentric architect William Burges;

- the colourful characters adorning its walls;

- the sad irony which marked its restoration.
